Whether or not that phrase conjures up a particular tune that will become an \u2018ear worm\u2019 for the rest of the day, it accurately embodies the vision that Owner\/Head Greenskeeper Scott Harger had been formulating for years. After retiring from a 20-year career with the State of Connecticut Department of Corrections, Scott\u2019s vision became reality, and Essex Indoor Golf Center opened its doors in June 2020. (yup, it was<\/u> the height of the pandemic) \u00a0<\/p>

Scott is an exceptional conversationalist, but his self-deprecating manner usually downplays his many golf accomplishments and accolades. His experience in the world of golf goes far beyond trying to improve his own game since he took it up in junior high school. Scott\u2019s golf resume includes more than 15 years as a high school golf coach, serving in leadership and consultative roles for local golf associations, competing in 200+ amateur and charity golf tournaments, and assisting in tournament operations with the PGA Head Golf Professional at a private country club.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>

Scott\u2019s wife of 30+ years, Cheryl, does NOT golf. But she\u2019s as deeply immersed in the operation of Essex Indoor Golf Center as Scott. Cheryl\u2019s expertise as a degreed accountant means that she oversees \u2018the business side of the business\u2019. Notice we didn\u2019t say she\u2019s \u201cbehind the scenes\u201d? You\u2019ll often see her meeting up with local leaders, event planners, and business collaborators.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Scott and Cheryl’s oldest daughter, Sierra Boulem, an RN by day, jumps behind the bar one or two days a week to help out. And her husband Matt, having completed his US Air Force obligations in January 2023, is now immersed full-time as a chef at The Grumpy Caddy. Together, the Harger-Boulem foursome turn this family-run business into a highly-rated sports and entertainment venue.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
